Hyperspace Challenge is excited to announce ten startup companies selected to attend the Hyper Accelerator Week in Albuquerque, New Mexico, November 13-16, 2018.
Hyperspace Challenge is a new program designed by AFRL New Mexico and ABQid to accelerate interactions between the defense community and U.S.-based startups. The goal: connect startups with cutting edge technologies to defense users in order to address some of the defense community’s most pressing challenges.
After attending a month-long webinar series in September in which startup companies from across the United States learned firsthand from defense innovators about their technological obstacles, participating startups submitted proposals describing how their capabilities could address various defense community problems. A team of tech, business, and defense experts evaluated all applications using a rigorous rubric and selected the 10 companies whose technologies are most aligned with the first set of Hyperspace Challenge problem statements.
The 10 companies selected include:
CrowdAI: Satellites capture every inch of the world on a daily basis. CrowdAI transforms these images into meaningful insights.
Enview: Enview rapidly transforms nation-scale 3D geospatial datasets into insights and action to protect people and infrastructure.
DroneMapper: DroneMapper specializes in photogrammetry and the extraction of value-added products from imagery, generating georeferenced Orthomosaics, Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), point clouds, textured mesh 3D models and GIS products for a large set of market segments.
HiveMapper: Hivemapper provides mapping, visualization, and analytic tools—for humans and machines alike—that uncover changes humans can’t see.
NOVI LLC: NOVI LLC applies machine-learning algorithms to Space Situational Awareness and and other related fields.
SaraniaSat: SaraniaSat Inc. acquires and processes advanced, high spatial and temporal resolution, Hyperspectral Remote-Sensing Imagery for multiple business verticals including Precision Agriculture, Environmental Monitoring, Forestry, Water Resource Monitoring, Weather Prediction and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance.
Silent Falcon: Silent Falcon designs long-endurance, long-range aerial platforms for carrying leading-edge sensors that collect, transmit and store the data and imagery required for a rapidly growing number of commercial, public safety, and traditional defense and security ISR applications.
SpaceKnow: SpaceKnow provides global coverage of the earth through cutting edge technology giving you access to view specific locations and monitor trends in our planet.
Vection Group: Vection Group is a cloud based streaming API software company providing B2B, B2C and B2M SaaS for the IoT, Smart Cities & other entities.
Vigilant1: Vigilant1 helps companies build dedicated, on-premise clouds, test engines in public clouds and off-site remote infrastructure.
On November 13-16, these ten companies, defense users, and invited industry experts will convene in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to further explore how startups’ capabilities can be used to address a defense community need. On November 15, startups will pitch how their capabilities will be able to fulfill a critical need for the defense community. The company with the most viable pitch will be awarded a total of $25,000 in incentive and prize money to expedite follow-on activities related to establishing acquisition or contracting opportunities with the Department of Defense.
